I am currently the Chairman and CEO of Six Apart, the makers of LiveJournal (which powers this journal, as well as thousands and thousands of others), Movable Type and TypePad.
I've worked for over 20 years in general management, sales, and marketing of consumer technology products.
Prior to joining Six Apart I was co-founder and President of OmniSky, the wireless Internet innovator, which went public in 2000 and was later acquired by Earthlink.
Before that I was Executive Vice President and General Manager at the Go Network and built it into one of the top five Web portals at the time, uniting the Web properties of Infoseek.Com, Disney, ABC, ESPN and many others.
Other jobs have included being Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Americas for Logitech, as well as key roles at Apple Computer and Macy's, as well as being the Founder of MarketCentrix, a technology strategy consultancy.
I was born in the Midwest, but am the consummate New Yorker where I grew up. I have lived in Palo Alto for the last 20 years.
